In just one month since its launch, Palworld, a game we’ve cheekily dubbed “the Pokémon this sinful world deserves,” has achieved a remarkable milestone, surpassing 25 million players on both Steam and Xbox, according to Pocketpair. Although its peak concurrent player count has seen a slight decline from its January peak, Palworld remains a force to be reckoned with in the gaming world, consistently ranking among the top-played games on Steam.

To put this achievement into perspective, the game has outpaced the player counts of major titles like Hogwarts Legacy and Elden Ring in a fraction of the time. While it’s crucial to note that player numbers don’t directly translate to sales, Palworld’s success is further emphasized by its availability on Game Pass, contributing to its significant player base.

In terms of revenue, the game’s 15 million sales on Steam alone, priced at $30 each, suggest a staggering $450 million before Steam’s cut. Even after factoring in the platform’s percentage, this represents a substantial financial success. Xbox sales, though not explicitly mentioned, contribute additional revenue, especially considering the game’s success on Game Pass.

Palworld’s growth doesn’t seem to be slowing down either, with Pocketpair reporting impressive figures just three weeks ago. The game’s success is particularly notable when compared to other releases around the same time, such as Enshrouded. While the 25 million player figure may not reach the heights of industry giants like Call of Duty: Warzone, it stands out as a remarkable achievement for an indie game with a presumably smaller budget.

Despite its success, Pocketpair remains proactive, addressing concerns about cheating and teasing upcoming content. The studio’s ability to maintain momentum and continually engage its player base highlights Palworld’s enduring appeal in the competitive gaming landscape.
