In a recent interview with Famitsu, Elden Ring director Hidetaka Miyazaki revealed that the upcoming expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, will feature a diverse array of new weapons and spells, marking them as a “main selling point.” Beyond what was showcased in the trailer, Miyazaki disclosed intriguing details about the new weapons, sparking excitement among fans.
The expansion introduces eight new weapon types, including the ōdachi, a formidable and heavier variant of the traditional Japanese sword. However, what caught the attention of many was the mention of “gyakute ken,” translated as “reverse-hand sword.” This term suggests the inclusion of underhand ninja blades, adding a unique and thrilling dimension to the game. Miyazaki also hinted at a new martial arts moveset and throwing daggers showcased in the trailer.
